“Our Sole”

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

Although a jovial title to this article, there is a serious nature to its content. The key message being that the shoes we wear have a great impact on our walking and comfort levels of our feet. It is vitally important that we have comfortable and appropriate footwear whether you are a builder, an office worker or a professional athlete. With this in mind and taking in to consideration the nature of business we at Goodwear Shoes deal in, I thought it would only be right that the first proper blog article be in regard to what makes a good pair of safety shoes or boots…

So here we go, the following points hopefully will help you establish what you should expect from a good sold pair of  protective shoes or boots:

·          The inside of the shoes should be the right size, meaning not too tight on the foot or too large where any discomfort is caused during the performance of work. The inner shoe should be straight and uniform from the rear of the shoe to the big toe. This gives the foot allowance to withstand pressure as you work.

·         The sole of shoes should have a strong grip, when finding the right pair always look for information about the grip (e.g. extra-grip, ladder grip sole ). Having a strong gripped sole will help prevent frequent falls and the danger of slipping on greasy surfaces.

·         Most importantly, when buying a pair of safety shoes make sure they have steel cap ends, this is to prevent damage to your feet in the possibility that a heavy object in the workplace drops on your feet. All the shoes that provide such protection are stated on our website.
